more about the Agatha Awards
*The
Anthony Awards are literary awards for mystery writers presented at the
Bouchercon World Mystery Convention since 1986. The awards are named for Anthony
Boucher (1911-1968), one of the founders of the Mystery Writers of America. The
Awards are among the most prestigious awards in the world of mystery writers and
have helped boost the careers of numerous recipients.
**The Macavity Award, given by Mysteries Readers International, the
largest mystery fan/reader organization in the world, is open to all readers,
fans, critics, editors, publishers, and writers. Started by Janet A. Rudolph in
Berkeley, California, it now has members in all 50 of the United States and 18
foreign countries. The Award is named for the "mystery cat" of T.S. Eliot (Old
Possum's Book of Practical Cats). Each year the members of Mystery Readers
International nominate and vote for their favorite mysteries in four categories.
